The Dino Ciani Master Classes and Festival
The Dino Ciani Music Master Classes and festival is an international summer master workshop at the University of Rijeka under high Auspice of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Prof. Ivo Josipović, Ph.D. It will be held from the 8th to the 19th of July, 2013. The workshop is intended for piano students from all over the world who will have a chance for intensive professional training alongside the lecturers Goran Filipec, Naum Grubert, Simon Trpceski, Epifanio Comis and Violetta Egorova. The best participant of the workshop will be awarded with a scholarship for free participation in the 2014 workshop. The Academy, named after the great pianist Dino Ciani who was born in Rijeka, will in the following years extant its activity to other instruments, and is opened to all music lovers. The aim of the Academy is to stimulate the flow of information, people and knowledge from the music world and to create a place at the University of Rijeka where it would be possible for young musicians to gather and work. Thus, by multiannual continuity it would become a platform for presenting and researching various music schools and traditions. Each participant of the workshop will have a chance to attend six individual classes and group classes. The academic part of the project will take place at the Italian Community, the Croatian Cultural Centre, the Regional Department of the Academy of Music in Zagreb and the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral. The participants will start the workshop with a prepared repertoire that will at the end of the workshop be performed as four separate concerts.
